With the all the lowbrow, same, simple storytelling movies, that Hollywood has produced in the past 10 years or so, I am not surprise to read that most viewers do not understand, or are bored by the movie “Boyhood”. They have been condition to.
One of the best, not only technical, but character driven films, ever produce. That paints a great picture of growing up, and shows how the little events in our childhood shapes us, while we are still growing, and into adulthood. It should win (have won) the best picture. If this film was made during the era of “New Hollywood” (1965-1981) , when ambiguous films were not only accepted but enjoyed by critics and the mass public alike, it would have won over the audience too.
